Dear Nursing Alumnus/Current student:

HACC is pleased to announce the strengthening of the relationship between HACC and Pennsylvania State University.  We have recently completed revision of the articulation agreement between the two schools to further enhance, and make seamless, the transition of our program graduates into the RN to BS (Nursing Major) program.

Starting in the fall semester, 2007, Penn State, Mont Alto will offer the RN to BS degree program at Penn State York in partnership with Penn State York. This will provide an opportunity for registered nurses living in, and around York County, access to Penn State bachelor’s degree in nursing.

During July and August Penn State York will be holding two open house events to provide information to prospective students on the RN-BS degree program option. Please see the enclosed flyer for dates, times, and other details.  The following items are also enclosed to provide an overview of the program and how courses taken at HACC transfer to Penn State: 1) HACC and Penn State Course Review Sheet, 2) Penn State York, Mont Alto, Harrisburg Check Sheet, and 3) Prerequisites for Required Nursing Courses for the Penn State RN-BS degree program

Additional information about the program can be found at www.hhdev.psu.edu/nurs/ and by contacting Sara Hilton, Penn State York admissions counselor at 717-771-4040, or by email at seh182@psu.edu. Current HACC nursing students can contact Heather Burns, HACC York Nursing Advisor, at 717-718-0328 ext. 3529 or e-mail at hlburns@hacc.edu.

For working RNs, pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing is not an easy task, but with the offering of the program at Penn State York, nurses in York County will have access to a high quality program close to home.  The investment in a baccalaureate degree is an investment in oneself and one’s continued professional journey as a nurse.  We at HACC nursing encourage you to take the next step in your educational journey.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Maneval DEd, RN
