Rohan Murphy7:00 p.m. - “What’s inspiring you today?”

Rohan Murphy – Penn State wrestler, accomplished power lifter and founder of CatchSpark.com. Murphy, who lost his legs at birth, has lived his whole life inspiring people by his actions, he is now motivating the youth of America with his words. His life story is one of adversity, dedication, and living life with a purpose. Join us to hear him ask and answer “What’s inspiring you today?”

7:00 p.m. - Party at The Paddock on Market

Featuring Velveeta, a retro rock band from State College, sponsored by the Penn State York Alumni Society. There is a $15 cover charge and cash bar(age 21 or over please). Tickets can be purchased below, or contact Iona Conlon at 717-718-6781 or iona@psu.edu.

9:00 a.m.–1:45 p.m. - Penn State Day Fall Open House

If you are a high school junior or senior interested in becoming a Penn State student, or an adult learner looking to improve your skills, change careers, or earn that degree you’ve always wanted, you won’t want to miss this exciting event at Penn State York! Tour the campus, talk to current students, meet our faculty, learn about the admission process, and investigate financial aid options. Activities for Children 

9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. - Inflatable Games

Inflatable games will be set-up outside in the area between the back of the Main Classroom Buidling and the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center.

11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. - Pumpkin Decorating

Grab a paint brush and decorate a pumpkin (while supplies last) in the art room on the lower level of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center.  This event is sponsored by the Penn State York Visual Arts Club.

1:00-2:00 p.m. - Story Time in the Lee R. Glatfelter Library

Come and hear the favorite stories of faculty and staff members at Penn State York from Harold and the Purple Crayon to Goldie the Dollmaker. The entire family can enjoy milk and cookies, hear a story, and the life lessons the reader learned from the book.

Special events being planned

9:30 a.m. - Homecoming Community Outreach Activity

Penn State York students, faculty, staff, and alumni are welcome to join the Penn State Team to participate in the 3rd annual National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk. The campus team will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the lower student parking lot (below the M.S. Grumbacher Information Sciences and Technology Center (Grumbacher) and walk to the starting point in the adjacent Veterans Memorial Park. Alumni should contact Di Hershey at dkh13@psu.edu or 717-771-4127 and students, faculty, and staff should contact Ann Fetterman at axf25@psu.edu or 717-771-4162 to become part of the campus team.

10:30 a.m. - Veterans Brunch

Penn State York Veteran Alumni will gather to celebrate the XGI 40th Reunion. Our veteran students will join in the festivities. Our alums will reconnect with friends, share some of their wisdom with current students, and learn more about veteran initiatives at the campus today. 12:00–1:00 p.m. - Life Lion Lands for a Visit

Enjoy this unique opportunity (helicopter on the ground for one hour) to see Life Lion, no emergency necessary for this experience, and learn about this life saving resource from the flight team.

2:00 p.m. - Penn State Soccer Game

Cheer on our soccer team as they take on Penn State Schuylkill.

3:00 p.m. - Penn State York baseball team and recent baseball alumni vs. XGI/Veterans team

Pick up the bat and glove and help show those youngsters how to play the game...baseball fans should plan to come and cheer on both teams.

2:00–4:00 p.m. - Alumni Reunions sponsored by the Penn State York Alumni Society

Network with fellow Penn State York alumni at the Engineering and Science Alumni Reunion, in the Ralph G. and Madeline B. Swenson Engineering Center, or the Information Sciences and Technology and Computer Science Alumni Reunion in the M.S. Grumbacher Information Sciences and Technology Center Lobby. Anton Shuford6:00 p.m. - A Night of Laughs with Anton Shuford

Also featuring the Penn State York Penn Players

Anton Shuford is an author, writer, and comedian who showcases a very unique philosophy on stage that is both unapologetic and a defense lawyer's nightmare. He has been a finalist at many of the prestigious national comedy festivals and is recognized as one of the best rising acts in comedy. Shuford has taken his comedy all over the world including Japan and Korea and can be seen at clubs and colleges across the county. He was also a huge hit at his family reunion.
