Penn State York Continuing Education offers many services to businesses, organizations, and individuals. In addition to several levels of language courses, cultural awareness and translation services are available. These courses are offered at Penn State York, the York AAA Office, or on-site at your workplace.
AAA members receive a 10 percent discount on noncredit Penn State York language courses. Place your AAA number on the bottom of the registration form. Only one discount per person is allowed.
Italian I, II, III
The 20-hour first level course will cover the basics of Italian while exploring the influences of its culture on America and the world in general. The four basics – reading, writing, listening, and speaking – will be covered. The second and third levels of Italian will focus on expanding vocabulary, developing greater facility with language applications, and gaining confidence in conversational situations.
Spanish I, II, III
The Spanish I course is designed to prepare you to speak with members of the Latino community in the work environment and life in general. It will meet for 20 hours and cover basic grammar while providing information on Latino culture. Spanish II and Spanish III allow participants to hone their skills. Emphasis is placed on expanding vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills.
