Clay Shoot Event April 24 to Benefit Penn State York Athletics

Penn State York’s sporting clays event is set for Thursday, April 24 and benefits campus athletic programs.

Clay shoot participants are invited to take aim and shoot for a day of fun that also benefits Penn State York students. Penn State York will hold its sixth annual sporting clays event on Thursday, April 24 at Central Penn Sporting Clays (CPSC) in Wellsville, Pa. The event is from noon–4:00 p.m. and benefits Penn State York’s athletic programs. Penn State York offers five intercollegiate sports, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and women’s volleyball, and a variety of club or intramural sports.

The schedule for the day includes clinics for novice shooters at 11 a.m., registration, flurry, archery, and lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m., warm-up from 12–1 p.m., a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and a tailgate along with awards and prizes at 3:30 p.m. The novice clinic is with Andrea Seefeldt Knight, an experienced shooter and the 2013 Maryland State Champion, Lady and A Class.

Individuals can be a shooter for $125 which includes 100 clays, foam ear plugs, lunch and tailgate, contest participation (including flurry, archery), and additional contests on the course. Participants also receive an event gift and team photo.

Gift cards will be awarded as individual prizes. Hershey Spa gift cards will be awarded for the women’s division winners.

In addition to a day of shooting clays, participants can tailgate with Michael Guman ’80, former running back with the Los Angeles Rams and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
