Don’t miss the opportunity to meet and talk with Mark Brennan, “Fight On State’s” writer and editor, and help raise scholarship money for York campus students, at the Penn State Alumni Association – York County Chapter’s annual tailgate Wednesday, Aug. 13. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m. in the conference center of the Main Classroom Building at Penn State York.

Brennan is a founding partner at FightOnState.com and “Fight On State” (FOS) the magazine. FOS was created in 2004, and immediately became a growth leader in the industry. FOS covers Penn State athletics, with an emphasis on Nittany Lion football and football recruiting. Brennan has been a full-time member of the Penn State football beat for 27 years.

Aside from his reporting, he is known for having received fashion advice from former Penn State football coach, the late Joe Paterno. Paterno once advised him to get his hearing checked, too.

Brennan’s work covering Penn State for FOS has led to live appearances as an analyst on the NFL Network, MSNBC, CNN, HLN and ESPN2. He has been part of the show “The Nitwits,” airing on the local CBS affiliate, since its inception 16 years ago. He also appeared on every installment of “Huddle Up,” which aired on the local PBS affiliate.

He has been a mainstay on local radio, too, most recently serving as a weekly guest during the Friday drive-time hour on ESPN Radio 1450.

Prior to launching FOS, Brennan served as editor at the magazine “Blue-White Illustrated” for 16 years, helping to lead the publication through the greatest growth phase in its history. Brennan began his journalism career covering Penn State football and basketball for “The Daily Collegian.”

Brennan lives in State College with his wife, Stacey, and they have a 12-year-old daughter, Grace, who inherited her looks and intelligence from her mother, but her writing ability from her proud dad.

You can follow Brennan on Twitter @MarkXBrennan.

The tailgate menu includes Southern style pulled pork barbecue, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, hot dogs, and a variety of side dishes. Tailgate tickets are $25 for club members and $35 for non-club members. For more information and event registration visit pennstatealumni-yorkcounty.org/news---events.html or call (717) 718-6781.
