Penn State York Begins Online Magazine
Penn State York's new literary E-zine, Any Other Word, an online magazine, is accepting submissions for consideration in its first publication this fall. Any Other Word is a creative outlet for members of the Penn State York student body and was created to showcase students' talents and unite artistic minds.
Julie Cassel, a junior at Penn State York majoring in communication arts and sciences, is the founder of the magazine and Noel Sloboda, Ph.D., instructor in English, is the adviser for the publication.
Any Other Word will publish short stories and poetry pieces that have been selected by a board of directors who will read all submissions and make selections. The student adviser has the final say on what is published. The publication takes its name from the quote by William Shakespeare, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet."
The magazine will post one issue per semester with the first publication slated for Nov. 1. For more details on how to submit writing for consideration, please visit the Web site at www2.yk.psu.edu/anyotherword/ or contact Cassel at email@example.com or Sloboda at firstname.lastname@example.org. All submissions are to be made electronically.
